A reminder that from April 2016, the national living wage will be £7.20 an hour for workers aged 25 and older. The minimum wage will still apply for workers aged 24 and under.

Note that all workers including interns generally have to be paid at least national minimum wage. There are limited exceptions to the NMW requirements for “voluntary organisations”. It is our belief that any company with shares should pay at least NMW, otherwise shareholders will ultimately be benefiting from cheap labour of voluntary workers – exactly what NMW was designed to prevent.
