HMRC has been working with the Council of Mortgage Lenders and has made changes so that lenders will accept self-served copies of the tax calculation (SA302). It has also liaised with software companies to ensure their packages offer a print facility.
As a result, agents will be able to print the tax calculation and HMRC will no longer issue paper copies to agents.
It replaces the process by which agents contacted HMRC for a paper copy of their client’s tax calculation for proof of earnings because the lender would not accept the copy printed from their HMRC online account or commercial software.
