At Green Accountancy, we are committed to delivering expert accountancy services with minimal environmental impact. As a practice founded on sustainability principles, we recognise both the direct and indirect effects our operations have on the environment. We aim to lead by example – integrating environmental responsibility into every aspect of our work. 

Our Commitment 

We strive to: 

• Operate as a low-impact, environmentally responsible business. 

• Integrate sustainability into our daily operations and long-term planning. 

• Support clients who share our environmental values, while encouraging all clients to consider sustainable practices. 

• Provide specialist carbon accounting services to help businesses understand and reduce their carbon footprint. 

• Share our expertise through thought leadership, including authoring the ACCA factsheet on carbon accounting for small businesses. 

Working Practices 

• Our team works fully remotely, significantly reducing commuting emissions and office energy use. 

• We use refurbished and second-hand equipment where possible, extending the lifecycle of office furniture and technology. 

• We maintain a near-paperless workflow, using digital tools for communication, documentation, and reporting. 

Transport 

• All business travel is conducted using electric vehicles or public transport. 

• We prioritise virtual meetings and only travel when necessary. 

• We do not use air travel for business purposes. 

Energy and Hosting 

• Many of our team members power their home offices with renewable energy, including solar. 

• Our website is hosted by Ecological Hosting, which operates entirely on solar power and follows sustainable hosting practices. 

Waste and Resources 

• We recycle all eligible materials and compost biodegradable waste. 

• We use 100% recycled paper and envelopes when printing is unavoidable. 

• Our printing partners are local, waterless, and environmentally certified. 

Water Use 

• We monitor and minimise water usage in our home offices. 

Client Engagement 

• We provide expert accountancy, business, and tax advice to a wide range of clients. 

• We offer carbon accounting services to help clients measure, report, and reduce their environmental impact. 

• While we do not require clients to have environmental policies, we offer guidance to those interested in improving their sustainability practices. 

Advocacy and Participation 

• We actively engage in environmental discussions relevant to small businesses. 

• We participate in local climate networks, sustainability events, and policy consultations. 

• We authored the ACCA factsheet on carbon accounting for small businesses, helping to shape best practices across the profession.
