With summer approaching, it is important to consider the affect of hot weather on the working conditions of your employees.
Whilst there is no legal upper limit to temperature in the workplace, it must remain ‘reasonable’. What is considered reasonable must be judged against your particular work environment.
The risks of high temperature must be assessed for your particular workforce including special consideration to at risk employees such as disabled or pregnant workers.
Any employees concerns should be considered and it may be beneficial to adjust standard protocol, such as formal dress codes, to maintain employee moral.
